Just a little time to stamp but here is my first one since who knows when... And I enter one of my mini Alcohol Ink canvases in the college art show....here are my Pears hanging on the wall next to other works...it is about the size of an ATC...the Pears are - not the wall...
The center layer is a painting I drew on a mini canvas and painted with Adirondack Alcohol Inks....you can remove the painting from the card and hang it on your tree or a small easel....this gem is going to my Secret Christmas Swap with someone at Altered Gypsy's...hope she likes it....
There is a bit of glitz here and there on almost all of these cards but it did not photograph well so enjoy anyway....I am still missing 3 cards - they are already made I just have to figure out which pictures they are and then I will post the remainder...these have been so much fun to do and it has forced me to look forward to the up and coming Holiday!!!!
Several of us at Altered Gypsy's are doing an exchange of 10 or 20 Christmas Cards. These are some of the first ones I have completed.....not many embellishments and do-da's because of postage cost for the other person...we want to keep them to normal postage....still fun to do!....click on each image to view it larger....Enjoy!
Designed this Pocket PopUp Booklet for an up and coming workshop. I really enjoyed combining my love of Pop Ups with my love of Books...
Cover has a clear window as noted in the 2nd photo....then the pages alternate from various pockets to hold pictures or whatever to pages that are a pop up type...
Rubber Stamper Magazine is looking for some masking ideas....these are my first attempts....I haven't done masking for a zillion years....I forgot how much fun it was....some of these are regular masking and the pear on is mortise masking - where you cut the center of the image out then mask the area and stamp something inside...
I am working on some potential Christmas card designs today...the trees are actually shimmery...done by using on of the new pens that has fine sparkle....these are the results so far....
While searching my techniques folder I came across this Chalk & Water background technique so I thought I would share it with you...when I was in high school, Crayola contacted our art class and had us do an experiment using chalked soaked in water....fun but according to Crayola our samples that we sent to them were far better than their researchers did....this is a variation of that technique....not as messy for one...play around with this and let us know how it was...it is fun to play with...
Chalk and Water Background -
For this technique I recommend watercolor paper but it is not necessary. Mix the chalk with water in a 2 oz spritzer bottle using 1/4t chalk per ounce of water. If you wish to achieve a darker color simply use more chalk. Spritz on paper as desired. Decorate your card or scrapbook page using your favorite stamps or embellishments.
The first example is a tag spritzed with lime green, pink and yellow palette chalk (pulverized in water)....I punched out a leaf several times and placed it on the tag then spritzed....the second example is the completed piece...
