This was designed for publication....waiting to hear if it will be selected...basically it is Tim's Configuration used as frames and boxes, masking tape on the cover colored with Adirondack Alcohol Inks, and lots of Tim embellishments, papers, and extras from my friends...the pen items are from Lisa in Savannah, GA and the large watch parts from Diane in Murrieta, CA...love that my friends look out for me...this was so much fun to design...the closure is chain looped around Tim's drawer pull....I put a loop in the chain to go around the pull....any questions about how I did it, email me...this is a repost for a friend...
I love this idea and use of Tim's configurations boxes! Beautiful - what a way to capture some special memories!
ReplyDeleteThis is sooooo cool It looks like an old treasure chest of some sort. You really do vintage well.
ReplyDeleteWow! Look at all those treasures. I'd love to see this tucked in among a row of well-used books. Amazing project.
ReplyDeleteLove vintage and Tim's stuff really makes it work for my style...thanks for the kind words...
ReplyDeleteLove this...so eclectic.
ReplyDeleteBarb, I looooove your work! Every class I have ever taken with you has been so exciting and informative. It is so good to have somebody out there who does more than the cutesy hearts and flowers. I love Tim stuff and you do it so well.

Woke up this morning and there was this giant project! Loved seeing the watch parts integrated into this piece. When will I get to see this in person? I can tell that this is one of your art pieces that needs to be a class. How many of those Speedball containers do you own? Ha! Great creation, Barb.
ReplyDeleteYou allways amaze me with all the great ideas you come up with. Love the work.
ReplyDeleteI am going to make something similar to this for a class/workshop...the response on this has been overwhelming...might give this one to Patti at Queens Ink...this is right up her alley and she is such a sweet person....just need to get time to create the class...I need to make sure that I can get multiple pieces of an item since this one has some one of a kind items in and on it...
ReplyDeleteFantastic art work!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI would love to know a little more about the technique you used on this cover. I am about to start one of these and I just love your creation. It is absolutely amazing.
Thanks
The cover is done with plain old masking tape that has been torn and layered over the blank book board cover...I then took Adirondack Alcohol Ink and colored the tape...I'm thinking the colors I used - Butterscotch was the main color...then I added some Caramel, Espresso, Red Pepper, Stream, and Pitch Black...I just keep working the colors until I was happy with the results...all of the Configuration Boxes were done the same way...
DeleteHope this helps...if not, just let me know...
It's absolutely amazing!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love, I love, I love ! J'adore, c'est une idée géniale ! MAGNIFIQUE !
